Non-Steriodal PRP Injection Treatments
WHAT IS PRP????
PRP is Platelet Rich Plasma and is generated from the whole blood running through your veins...
A small amount of your own blood is removed from your body, placed into test tubes which contain a solution allowing the blood to be separated into its two main components - plasma (which is thin and liquidy) and the platelets (which is thick and viscus). The platelets contain chemical compounds and growth factors that supports and speeds up healing time but more importantly; the platelets contain nutrients vital to replace damaged cells and tissue with healthy replacements.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Preparation:
Make sure your treating physician is aware of all prescription medications as well as any over-the-counter preparations you might be using.
Follow all instruction regarding blood thinning medications such as aspirin, naproxen, ibuprofen and prescriptions. Tylenol or acetaminophen is okay regarding headache pain relievers.
For use to treat hair loss - patient should wash hair day of treatment and use NO PRODUCTS on the hair. A clean hat should be brought to the appointment and worn after the procedure to protect the treated area.
PRP involves drawing blood, therefore, it is important for the patient to eat a meal before the procedure to avoid dizziness and low blood sugar.
The Procedure:
A small amount of your blood is removed from your body and then sent through the centrifuge to separate the thick part from the thin part. The platelets are then injected into the injured area(s). The platelets are broken down naturally by the body's resources and the growth factors contained within are released which then triggers cell growth and tissue renewal and regeneration.
The whole procedure takes about 30 minutes and most people resume their daily activities immediately after treatment - making this the ideal "lunch-break" treatment.
After Treatment:
the treatment area should not be washed for 48 hours; after that hair and skin products may e used again and topical medications may recommence.
